Emerging Leadership Program

 

Why:

As the swine industry continues to grow, Carthage Veterinary Service, Ltd. recognizes the importance of focusing on emerging leaders in swine production. We will help encourage influential contributors to become the decision makers of tomorrow, driving the future of our industry. This program is uniquely designed to provide exceptional experiences and a strong foundation of leadership skills.

 

Goal:

To build the next generation of production leadership in the swine industry. The two-year program will push these emerging leaders to improve their technical and leadership skills through targeted sessions. It will facilitate networking and social interactions amongst peers and other leaders in the swine industry. Upon completion of this program, candidates will be able to implement their gained knowledge and leadership skills in their daily tasks to foster their success.

 

Application Timeline:

January 1, 2019 – Applications are available

February 25, 2020 – Applications are due

February, 2020 – Selected candidates will be announced

 

Tentative Meeting Dates:

March 19-20, 2020 –New Facility Construction/Maintenance

July 30-31, 2020 – Managing Health in an Integrated Production System

September 2, 2020 – Managing Production Operations and Support Services

March 18-19, 2021 – Managing Pig Flows and Marketing Strategies

July 29-30, 2021 – Teamwork & Communication, Employee Development & Talent Management

September 1, 2021 – Crisis Response and Management

 

Candidate Requirements:

Selected candidates must be able to attend all six meetings. Men and women ages 20 – 40 who work in swine production are encouraged to apply. Selected candidates will not be responsible for hotel or meals during meetings.
